FAQ
-
Do you take insurance? We are credentialed with most major insurance companies, including Pacificsource Medicaid. We also always accept cash pay-pay patients. Please call the office if you have any specific questions regarding pricing and insurance coverage at St. Rita Psychiatry
-
What ages do you treat? While St. Rita Psychiatry primarily treats child and adolescent patients, several of our practitioners are still accepting adult patients. Katherine Leatherman PMHNP-BC currently accepts patients between the ages of 5 and and 21, while Brian Troutz PMHNP-BC and Renee Arreola PMHNP-BC are seeing ages 13 and up. In addition, our therapist, April Clark MA, sees patients aged 5 and older.
-
Do you offer therapy? Our therapist, April Clark MA, offers services to both children and adults at St. Rita. In sessions, April utilizes Depth and Jungian Psychodynamic methods, Person-Centered therapy (Rogerian), expressive arts, mindfulness, and Collaborative Problem Solving. She holds certifications from PSU in Foster and Adoption Family Therapy and Therapeutic LifeStory Work, and she is trained in attachment-based EMDR. Additional training includes SandTray, Play Therapy, Art Therapy, Collaborative Problem Solving, Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), and she is currently training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Relational Life Therapy, as well as working with ADHD and eating disorders. Our psychiatric nurse practitioners primarily specialize in assessment, diagnosis and skilled medication management for psychiatric conditions. However, not every patient will need medication as a part of their treatment plan. Prior to medication recommendations we thoroughly assess the patient’s lifestyle choices and environment to determine what non-pharmacological interventions can be tried first, and many of our patients work simultaneously with their psych provider and April Clark.
-
What sets St. Rita Psychiatry apart?St. Rita Psychiatry provides unparalleled mental healthcare to the child and adolescent population. Our providers are experts in treating and managing both highly complex child psychiatric conditions and situational mental health concerns that children and teens face each day. We incorporate parent and family education, social skills training, and provide a collaborative care model that fosters communication with other members of the patient’s care team.
-
Do you offer telehealth? We prefer to see patients in person for their appointments. This helps ensure clear communication with children and their families and builds better rapport. If there are extenuating circumstances such as weather, transportation issues or illness, we will offer you the option to do a telehealth appointment or reschedule.
-
What’s your cancellation policy?Given the high demand for services, we require at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel your appointment. If you do not notify the clinic within this time frame, a standard fee of $150.00 will be charged to your account. If you fail to notify us within the required time frame a second time, the standard fee will be applied and it will be up to your providers discretion whether they would like to retain you as a patient. A third late cancellation or no show will result in termination of care.
-
Is St. Rita Psychiatry a religious organization? We are not a formal religious organization and are not operated by the archdioceses of Oregon. We chose the name St. Rita Psychiatry as she represents hope and healing in impossible situations. We accept all religions and identities and simply aim to provide psychiatric services to the neighborhood.
